Sidetracked

Hi All! I'm so sorry I haven't blogged in such a long time. I don't know if I've been waiting to get new pictures on here..or I've just been a little sidetracked. Maybe a bit of both! When I was home in Indiana for Christmas I had a wonderful baby shower with friends and family. Here are few pictures from the day! This child is going to be very well dressed...she has almost more clothes than me!
I also had a wonderful baby shower in Sioux Falls yesterday afternoon. All of my friends from work and far away came...I think there were 28 people!! Lots of good food, wine for those not pregnant, and the best part is....my mom, sister and best friend Sara flew in. Here are a few pictures....PLUS the Bump :)

Baby is doing just fine! I am nearly 31 weeks and we are getting REALLY close. I think she's probably 3 pounds or a little over. I'm finally getting over a double ear infection. I was miserable for about a week and a half. But thank goodness fo antibiotics!! The baby is really moving a alot and not so much punching, but rolling. It's unbelievable how active she is.
Steve and I started a child birth class about 2 weeks ago and we are going to our 3rd class on Tuesday. We will have 5 total. We are both surprisingly really enjoying it and learning a lot. Some people recommended it, some didn't...but I'm so happy we signed up. All of my questions are being answered and Steve is truly interested. Last week's class was pretty interested...we had to watch the live birth and our teacher didn't warn us! BUT it wasn't that bad :) haha.
Steve and I are going to organize the baby's room tomorrow night and we'll post some pictures of the baby's room then! Soooo stay tuned!!

Almost 7 months!

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great Christmas. Unfortunately Steve and I were snowed in at home in South Dakota. That means we didn't get to spend Christmas in Waseca :( It was a hard decision to not get behind the wheel, but after 19 inches of snow and the horror stories from friends that drove back to Sioux Falls on Sunday, it was definitely the best decision. The good news is, we're not done celebrating the holidays. We will celebrate Christmas in Waseca this coming weekend!

Not much to report with the baby. She's been a bit quiet today. I think it's because I've actually been busy! Steve and I sat around for 4 days and I had plenty of time to sit back and enjoy the somersaults. I'm starting to get nervous about becoming a mom...normal I'm sure. The baby's room is nearly complete...and her closet is filling up quickly!

Here is a picture of me at 26 weeks when I was home in Evansville. I'm now almost 28 weeks - that's 7 months for everyone trying to do the math!

Hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve. I will update later this week after my scheduled doctor's appointment!

Merry (early) Christmas!!

Hi Everyone! Well I made it home to Evansville Thursday and surprisingly we didn't miss any flights (really by the skin of our teeth!). It was quite the traveling day, but we're here and safe. So in case you didn't know, the baby is great and the doc ok'd me to head home. She's measuring perfect, even though I feel like my stomach is getting huge! My small maternity shirts are getting a little snug :) Mom says she's going to take a picture of me later, so I'll try and post that. I love coming home around the holidays. The house looks so beautiful. Mom decorates so well...I don't have that knack! I will try and post a picture of the outside later too. You guys will be amazed! Today we are going to celebrate Christmas and open presents and tomorrow I am having my first baby shower. I can't wait. And I think Steve is excited too. It will make it feel even more real.

Now on to some more baby news. Like I mentioned, baby is growing at a good pace. I would guess she's close to 2 pounds, maybe a little more now. Last time they checked was the day after Thanksgiving and she was almost a pound and a half. She is a mover and a shaker and she is very very low. So low that I think sometimes she is going to fall out!! But I have been reassured that is not going to happen :) I am 6 and a half months (26 weeks) already and don't have much time to go. Steve wants to see her now and I told him we have to wait just a bit longer :) Anyway hope everyone has a great weekend and if you're celebrating the holiday early, have a great time with family and friends! I have to say it's not fun living this far from my family, but over the holidays it means we get and extra long Christmas!

Pains and Gains

Well I'm sitting here battling an upset tummy...just another day in the life! She is growing like a weed and moving around like crazy! I'll be 25 weeks on Thursday, so only 15 more weeks to go. It's insane how this pregnancy is flying by! Next week I get tested for gestational diabetes and get the go-ahead to fly home for Christmas :) I can't wait to see my family and of course my sweet nephew Warren.

Sunday my good friend Jessica came over to take some pictures and document my pregnancy (preview on the left). We also snuck in some Christmas Card pictures. Look for those cards in the next few weeks in your mailbox!

On a baby note...she can definitely here what's going on outside my belly. Today I did a story about a CareFlight pilot at one of our Hospitals here in town and I was standing outside when the blades started whipping around. She started dancing and kicking and flipping! I think it may have been a bit too loud for her. I was even holding my ears! Anyway hope everyone is doing well!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone. Hope you all are enjoying your Thanksgiving with family and friends. I am awaiting a few visitors! My mom, dad and two aunts should be here any minute! I can't wait :) My parents haven't seen me since August and boy do I look different! I am 23 weeks today and growing right along. Steve and I have an ultrasound tomorrow. It's a follow up from the first one because they couldn't get a good look at her brain. In my 3D US everything looked great, but because that was for a study it doesn't go in my medical records. So tomorrow is just a great excuse to see her again :) And my family gets to join! Here's a new picture of the baby bump! I'll be 6 months next week if you can believe it!! Have a great holiday :)

21 Weeks!

Well baby girl Hanson is definitely going to be a dancer. During our ultrasound today the tech kept saying, "Does she usually move around this much??" And Steve felt her move for the first time tonight....very cool :) They didn't get me a CD of the 3D pictures so I had to take pictures of the ones they gave me. So in short they aren't the best of quality. But if you run into me just ask to see my baby and I'll pull out the slide show!!
The US tech said everything looked really really good. Brain and heart have developed well and her little nose is sort of looking like mine! She is 14 ounces, so almost a pound and is measuring right on schedule. Hope you enjoy the pictures! I'll have another US in two weeks so I'll be posting more pictures then!
She's already singing!

Thumbs up!
Doctor says she is still head down. Probably explains why I've had such trouble getting around lately. My doctor is recommending a pregnancy belt...but we'll see!!

We're Half Way

Hi All. It's been a while since I posted last but no new information to really pass along. Baby is growing fast it seems and I'm getting bigger every day. Shes about 10 1/2 ounces right now and is about the length of banana believe it or not! She's been kicking away like crazy. Sometimes she gives me a good 8-count :) We'll have to see if she's interested in dance when she's older!

If you didn't notice I changed the look of my blog. Hope you like it. Next Thursday I get to see her again! For those of you don't know, I am involved in a study at Sanford Hospital here in Sioux Falls. The study looks at how the baby develops and is also focusing on SIDS and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Basically I get free 3-D ultrasounds and get to hear and see the baby a lot more! So I'm all for it :) So next week I get my first 3-D ultrasound (Thursday). Look for more pictures then. In the meantime, enjoy this new belly picture of me. I am really pregnant - can you believe it? :)
